Homemade Brunch & Art Gallery.

Ok, I might have gone a little overboard with pictures! I fell in love with every photo we took this morning we made brunch together as a family. So in this case, going overboard is a good thing! I love that I will always have these moments captured.
The night before, we stopped at the dollar store and got watercolor paint sets for the kids. Naveya is really into doing hands on things like crafts, and helping cook meals. Especially anything sweet or dessert related! Making brunch and creating some fun art pieces were right up her ally! That girl has done a handful of paintings each day and her paint tray is almost gone already! Dax, on the other hand, was much more interested in playing with toys! He sat down long enough to make the cutest treasure map and then ran off to play. [You can see his treasure map on the far left in a couple of the pictures.] Then I took over his paint set and made a pineapple, cactus, and dalmatian print painting. [I know it looks a little ink blot or cow print-esque, but dalmatian print is one of my favorites so that's what it's supposed to be! Ha!]
After we pinned our art up I got the idea to take one of their easels and make that Art Gallery sign. Having that up right by the kitchen, it only seemed fitting to also add "brunch served daily". We've now actually had brunch almost everyday that sign has been up and I love it! I'm thinking I need to make a more permanent version of that sign for when we settle back home in Phoenix. I also want to frame Naveya's watermelon painting. It's my favorite one of our current art gallery!
Anytime we do activities together is exciting for me! It doesn't matter if its hiking, painting, or making pancakes. It just feels good to be making memories together. Making brunch was almost as fun as eating it! Almost.
