EASTER WEEKEND

Spring, I love you! Pretty sure I say that at the beginning of every season, but Spring...when everything gets more colorful again and the days get warmer and longer...I just love it! Some of my favorite memories are associated with the heat. I welcomed hitting our first 100 degree day this week ‘cause it also means swimming, beach days, and wandering our city in search of cold treats!

Last Saturday was one of those first hot days and it was soo nice!! We started the day with Easter brunch at a friends house. The kids dyed eggs (thanks Curtis’ otherwise we probably wouldn’t have done it this year) and then went to the Japanese Friendship Garden. I’ve been wanting to go to there for months now and we finally made it! The garden was beautiful, but our favorite part was feeding the ducks and koi fish. You can buy little $1 bags of fish food and the koi fish go crazy!! It was so funny, when we got our food and tickets they asked us to not feed the pigeons. Ten feet into the garden there were some adults hand feeding a pigeon and Dax started to walk up to them saying “Hey! You’re not supposed to-” before I could grab him! Love that kid. He fractured his arm this week tripping on some stairs at school. It hasn’t slowed him down much, except for when he want’s to get out of doing something like chores because he “only has one arm”. I do have to admit though, it was really cute seeing Danny follow Dax around with his easter basket helping him when we did our Easter egg hunt. It was such a good weekend! I’m so glad we took tons of pictures, including the last few after church on Sunday with grandma Diane! It was a good one. And I love these people. so. much.
