SUM 41

I was telling Danny the other day that I like him extra right now. Ha! In that kind of way where you always love each other, but you know how sometimes on a micro level you feel less connected and others where you feel super close and obsessed with each other? Right now I'm obsessed! ;) I find the obsession typically follows when we've spent time together just the two of us. We recently went to a Sum 41 concert and it was SO FUN! It was the 15th anniversary of their album Chuck, so they played alot of their old songs. While we were at the concert I kept thinking about Danny and I when we were 16 & 17 driving around in his (I think it was a '91) Dodge Spirit. Oh, that ugly car. Haha! We'd drive around listening to music and I'm sure many a song from that Chuck album were the soundtrack to getting me home on time for curfew.

US after singing our hearts out and bobbing around with a bunch of other sweaty people. (Gross, and also) SOOO FUN!!!

Halloween is next week and I STILL don't have everyone's costumes together. BUT! we did take the kids to see the new Adams Family movie, which Navy has been excited to see since she saw the trailer months ago. I really should get more into Halloween. I don't decorate much for holidays, and as far as solid traditions go...I feel like we only have them for Christmas. Naveya told me the other day that Halloween and Christmas were tied for her favorite holidays. Which makes sense. It's the one holiday the kids talk about almost year-round planning what they want their costume to be. Its a holiday that is about them AND they have their own part in planning what they want to wear and how they want to celebrate it. Next year I'd love to go all out with costumes and spend Halloween in NYC! I love how they do Halloween and I've wanted to take the kids for years! For now, our shining moments have been taking the kids to the Fall Festival at the Elementary school last night and letting them roam free with friends. Then probably the best surprise was Danny ordering a Baymax costume. Dax has wanted to dress up as Hero and Baymax from Big Hero 6 for the last couple years. (I see a theme here. Like I said...next year I want to be more prepared and make Halloween super fun!) It will be fun to see the boys dress up together!

Between the Fall Festival, the kids after school program Halloween party, Daxtons choir concert, and parent-teacher conferences this week I feel like we've been at the kids schools a TON! Dax did so good in his choir concert! I live for stuff like that! Getting to soak in these elementary school years of concerts and art shows. I love them so much!

Documented waiting for Pizza after parent-teacher conference because we've eaten out more in the last couple weeks than I feel comfortable admitting. 'Cause you know...all the activities named above. If you have any tips for meal planning/prepping, or gaining more energy in general, send them my way!

One thing I have started doing this week is going on a walk at some point during my workday. Its felt so nice outside in Phoenix right now!! Taking 15 min away for myself in the middle of the day has been the thing I didn't know I needed. I snapped this photo down the street from the office and those palm trees with their twin shadows made me so happy!

Another GOOD week in the books for the Hoefel-fam. Love these crazies so much!!
