Daxton's 5th Birthday!

I love birthdays! Getting to have an entire day, or in our family more like a WEEK, to celebrate someone you love is one of the best things...EVER! My Dax Man is 5 now! We let him plan the weekend and to sum it up, it was a mix of his favorite things: pancakes, cake-cake, and playing at the park and football field! 

Every Saturday we've been going to the high school by our house to play on the football field. So when He chose to have a football themed birthday party it made me so happy seeing how much he's liked that time together. At least that's how I took it! Ha! Dax did also want to watch football at his party too, so that ended up working really well! We had a family party with tailgating snacks, BBQ and watched football while the cousins played. It reminded me of Sundays at my grandma and grandpa Castillo's house growing up! (Minus the carneasada...we totally should have had carneasada!) 

We have this tradition in our family of making "birthday waffles" for breakfast and sing to you the morning of your birthday. We top homemade waffles with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, sprinkles, and a candle! Daxton's favorite restaurant is Cracker Barrel. He's obsessed! Anytime we go out to dinner for a mommy-son date....Cracker Barrel. Anytime we let him choose where to go out to eat as a family...Cracker Barrel. And when playing the "question game" and someone asks about our favorite food, Daxton's answer is always....Cracker Barrel pancakes. He always orders the pancakes. Danny had the idea to look up a homemade CB pancake recipe to make for Daxton's birthday breakfast. Of course with all the toppings we usually use, and he loved them! 

I loved just getting to watch Daxton the entire weekend! Seeing how happy he was getting to be the birthday boy was priceless! We have the cutest video of him opening his presents! Dax freaked out over every single thing he opened. I just love that boy. I feel so blessed to be his mama!! Happy 5th Birthday Daxton!!!

1. Favorite food: pancakes from Cracker Barrel.

3. His favorite TV show is "probably Power Rangers" 
4. Movie: Avengers
5. Restaurant: Cracker Barrel, which has been his all time favorite restaurant since he was 2. 
6. He loves to play at the park with Naveya.
7. Pancakes  from Cracker Barrel. (I'm starting to see a theme here.)
8. Favorite animal: goats and sheep (I was really surprised by that answer, but he did get to feed goats a few weeks ago and loved it. He was so cute holding the bottle above their heads trying to get them to take turns.)
9. Word He would use to describe himself: "I love me!"
10. He likes jumping on the bed.
11. Favorite Book: Puss in Boots
12. When I asked him what his favorite Holiday was, he said "Saturday!" Ha! 
13. As far as official holidays go, he is so excited for Halloween! Naveya and Dax drew pictures of witches, mummies, and Monsters Inc. characters and taped them all over their bedroom.
14. When He grows up he wants to be a rapper. (This kid is hilarious! He started doing his own version of beat boxing after he answered! Thanks to Uncle Nate for helping Dax find this hidden talent. Ha!)
15. When Dax the rapper grows up, him and his family are gonna live with me. (Dax always tells me he's never going to leave me and I love it!)
16. If He could go anywhere in the world he would go to NEW YORK CITY!!
