THIS WEEK.

It's been such a good, busy week! Last night I snuck away for some me time and went to try on some clothes at a few stores near our apartment. I don't buy clothes very often, for any of us really. It just hasn't been a priority in our budget. When we move into our new apartment in a couple months, I want to start putting together capsule wardrobes for all 4 of us. I feel so much better when I'm in an outfit I feel like a hot mamacita in!

Last weekend we got to spend more time with cousins!! We're so excited to have Rach, Nate, and their babes here in AZ! When we moved here to the Valley it was pretty much just us. Then a year ago Danny's mom and brother moved here from St George, a month ago my grandma moved here from LA, and just over a week ago Danny's sister Rach and her family moved here from New Jersey! Slowly but surely we're luring everyone here to Arizona.

The kids summer camp adventures continue....Navy went to Toy Story 4 on Monday. We were planning to go this weekend, but when we picked her up from camp after she had seen it she was so excited and wanted to tell us about to movie. Danny didn't want any spoilers and immediately said WE'RE GOING!! Ha! So we went Monday night instead. (This was the best family picture we got this week.)

The kids also had a Halloween Spirit Assembly at camp this week. Each grade got to do a Halloween themed skit at the assembly. In Navy's skit, she was Winifred Sanderson from Hocus Pocus. I know I've mentioned it before, but when the kids are on school breaks I always have a hard time missing them and wishing I could take care of them instead of sending them to camp or a sitter. Obviously, there is so much I'm able to do for our family by working full time, but none the less I still miss them. Danny and I were talking this past week about how good it's been for me starting these weekly updates. It's helped me see that even with the 40+ hours I'm at work, we still do so much together as a family. Down to the simple things like putting together a costume and getting ready for the day together. Taking the time to write these little things down has been such a good gratitude practice for me. Love this little Winnie!

No pictures of Daxton dressed up because somehow I missed the memo that all the kids would be dressing up. Not just if you wanted to for your skit. In hindsight, I know it's pretty obvious....they were having a HALLOWEEN assembly, but Daxton didn't mention or seem to have any interest in dressing up. At least until he saw everyone else was dressed up. SO, he didn't. You win some, you... know the rest.

One night this week we decided to grab a few slices at Pat's Pizza. It's one of those hole in the wall places where you can order their 2 slice special all day, any day. Not just during lunch. And you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom. They also have a ton of random toys and knick-knacks in there. If you're here in Phoenix I highly recommend grabbing some pizza and playing a game of I-spy. We always do when we go there and it's been a fun little tradition while waiting for our food. (I will say, it's not our favorite pizza. Probably our 3rd or 4th on our list. Their cannoli's though....are a must!!)

I had the kids share a meal and they were still hungry, so Danny gave them the card to go order more. It was so funny, Danny told them to run it as credit and make sure to leave a tip, and when it got to the point of choosing the tip amount Dax turned to us and yelled, "How much do I tip?? FIFTY PERCENT!!?" Haha. They were so excited to get to sign their initials for the order too.

Operation little BIG move has officially started. Our lease is up here at our current apartment in 2 months. We don't know exactly where we're going yet but we have our eye on a building 2 blocks away that would be perfect! I had been stalking the building for a while and a couple weeks ago met with a realtor to see a few units that were available at the time. To get a real feel for the place. You never know looking online, so when we walked through them we all were like...yep! This is it! We've been in our current apartment for almost 2 years and it has been such a great place for us. I've been having the itch to minimize lately. Moving into a smaller two bedroom or even back to a 1 bedroom apartment feels right for us right now. Less stuff, lower rent, and more experiences!!

With two months until our move we're trying to go through things, purge and organize a little bit every weekend. The other day as we were going through some of the kids crafts and school stuff I asked Navy if we could get rid this paper skeleton, knowing she had put alot of work into it. Navy decided (after naming her project Ruby) that she deserved a proper burial in the recycling bin for our apartment complex instead of the kitchen trash. She was so funny carrying it out to the trash, making a little speech and picking flowers to throw into the trash with it. These are those little things I want to remember. These funny little moments. Looking forward to more of them this weekend!!
