Birthday week.

These past few weeks have started to jumble together. Probably because one of my specialties is stretching birthday celebrations. Birthdays start as a week long celebration at our house and then spill into the following weeks because, in my opinion, birthdays are the biggest holidays. Celebrating a whole person and what they mean in my life, especially one of these three people, is more than I can fit into a day. (or apparently even a week). I mean, I'm not a pinterest mom or anything. I don't throw a big fancy party, but I do try to go out of my way to make them feel special. Everything from the meals we make at home, to the decision of what family activity or movie we watch get to be chosen by the birthday girl/boy. So between how busy these last couple weeks have been, and calling these last 2 weeks Navy's "birthday week"...I'm not sure what happened when and where! Haha!

Naveya's birthday is the first since cousins moved here to the valley!! Being able to have a family birthday party with grandma, aunts, uncles and cousins all together is something we haven't done in years and it was SO FUN! I wasn't the best at taking pictures of the party but we all soaked it in and had the best time. Naveya wanted to have lasagna for her family birthday dinner. She and Danny had made it together a couple months ago and she loved it. I'm pretty sure half of the reason she chose it was because she had so much fun making it last time, just her and Danny. Which makes my heart sooo happy!!! The kids went swimming while the grown-ups sat and talked, and everyone played a ridiculous game called Speak Out (thanks for the game Rach and Nate!) I feel like we're way late on this game train since this was our first time playing it, and it was so fun! On Naveya's actual birthday we did all the traditions! I made a birthday poster for her to wake up to in the morning, we ate birthday waffles, and Navy chose the restaurant for her birthday dinner. We went to Golden Corral (ya, the buffet). This was a smart choice on her part, because she knows if there is any chance of convincing me to go to a buffet... it's by using the birthday card. Haha!

Sprinkles cupcakes for our birthday girl!!

Danny and I got to go on a date this week! This makes 2 (maybe 3??) weeks in a row of date night and now we're basically madly in love. Having regular date nights keep me sane and I love having time with him! Even if it's just for a quick dessert run! One of the managers at the Doctors office I work at retired. Our Docs had a retirement dinner for her and it was so fun taking Danny as my plus one.

(and a few pictures below that I snapped and thought, that little face, the girl in those shadows, and those palm trees are so freaking beautiful!!!)

Anyone else have a child that wants to carry her whole world around with her when she goes to school!? She takes a few toys in her backpack and has a separate bag of snacks and stickers she's been trading and selling. Love this girl!!

We also had family photos taken in our apartment. Have I said lately that I love pictures!!!?? Donna from @wildlingsphoto.co took them and I'll have to do a separate blog post to keep them because there are so many good ones!!!

(Right before playing Speak Out! Haha!)

Naveya chose to have her birthday cake say " Hello People, I'm 10!" The look on the guys face at the bakery was so funny when she asked. I think he even asked her if she was sure that's what she wanted. Haha! Yep! She's sure, that my girl.

This next week I'm looking forward to getting the house packed because next weekend is finally our little BIG move!!!!
