Breakfast with Santa
I love this time of year so much! It's December! Which means it's almost my birthday and in a few weeks our family will be back together for Christmas!! With Danny being gone, and us not being in our own place, everything just doesn't feel quite right. I was telling Danny the other day the word that keeps coming to mind is 'weird'. Ha! We've never been apart for this long and we're all missing our Dad and best friend. I know our focus on gratitude during this time has been such a blessing. When we went to breakfast with Santa my heart felt so full! I'm so grateful for the familiar feelings of the holidays during this "weird" time!
Daxton was so excited to talk to Santa. Naveya, not so much. She knows he's not the REAL Santa. :) When we walked in and saw him she said, "At least he's got a real beard." Haha! Naveya still very much believes in Santa! She asked me about the tooth fairy earlier this year and that went really well. We had a great talk. She has lost a tooth since and reminded me quietly to not forget to put a dollar under her pillow! That girl! So I'm holding on to these Christmases with her before she gets to join in on the fun of creating magic for others! As I got older my parents let me help put out the toys for my younger siblings and I had so much fun!
Daxton is sitting here next to me and said his favorite part of the party was getting a candy cane from Santa. We sat at a table and ate pastries with cousins, got candy canes, and decorated cookies. It was such a nice morning with family! I can't wait 'til Christmas!! In the mean time I'll be soaking up all the christmas music and hot cocoa I possibly can.
