My 27th Birthday!
I've been so excited to turn 27 this year! Birthdays feel like a holiday to me so I don't feel like I'll ever be that lady that dreads her birthday and being another year older. I know I'm still young so I may be speaking a little soon, but thats the goal! To enjoy celebrating another year of life and amazing memories!
Today was a great day! Simple and great! The only thing that could make it better would be to have Danny here with us. Thank heaven's for phones! We were able to talk and text during the day so luckily he was still a big part of my birthday! Just like he has for the past 10 years! I reminded him today about my 17th birthday. Ten years ago today, Danny showed up at my house, and woke me up to go to Denny's with some friends. My room was downstairs and had a sliding glass door to the back yard. It was so fun getting to wake up to him tapping on that glass door and having him be the first person I saw in the morning. I haven't thought about that in forever, and it was a perfect memory for today! All these years later he's still my best friend, we have a beautiful family, and I'm so excited to get to wake up next to him again in a few short weeks!
I had the best day with Naveya and Daxton! We finally go to break out our sweaters! It's been chilly and sprinkling rain on and off all day. I've craved peppermint hot chocolate all week and today felt especially perfect for it! The Target close to our house has a Starbucks inside, so that seemed like the perfect simple birthday date! We grabbed some food from the deli there, ordered our hot chocolate and ate in the Starbucks cafe. Naveya and Dax made themselves comfy and sat in the window right by our table. I posted a photo of Daxton laying back eating the last of his blueberries! Ha! That boy is so funny! I love him so much!
I can't help but love this picture of Naveya and Dax. She was hugging him so tight and wouldn't let him go.
Of course I had to save him from Naveya and steal all the snuggles. Haha! Dax pretended to be asleep as soon as I held him.
Once we got home we watched Home Alone 2. (Of course I had to have a little piece of New York City as part of my birthday!) It really has been a great day. As I sit here, the kids are sleeping in bed. I got the mail and Danny sent me some chocolate, a five dollar bill for the City Jar, and comfy socks I'm wearing now. He's on a team conference call and I can't wait to talk to him on the phone! Again, thank heavens for phones! He was the first to tell me happy birthday at midnight last night and talked to me on the phone until I fell asleep. My boys have both been so sweet to me today! First thing this morning Dax snuggled up to me half asleep and said "Happy birthday Mommy." All three of my loves made me feel so special and loved today! Naveya made sure I got to pick everything we did today because I'm the 'birthday girl'! :) This little family of mine is my world. I'm so grateful for them! I'm so grateful for peaceful days like today that I get to spend with them!
