Donut Date

Naveya, Dax and I have gone on a mommy-kid date every week Danny has been gone working. Knowing our days here in Houston are numbered we've made sure to go to some of our favorite local places! We went on dates to Tacos Flores, Spring Creek BBQ, and this donut shop we went to yesterday morning - Donut Junction! It's near Naveya's school and there may or may not have been a few (or a dozen. Ha!) mornings we've stopped to grab breakfast there on the way to school. It's one of those hole in the wall - family owned places where we've seen the same 2 people behind the counter every time and it's always delicious!

These two may look like their Daddy, but they got their love for donuts from their mama!! 

'Kolaches' are a local Houston thing. We tried our first one yesterday. It was like a cheesy hot dog wrapped in a roll. Nothing fancy, but definitely another fun H-Town experience.

I've loved every date with these two! Little do they know, yesterday's date was the last one before Danny gets home. He actually left Phoenix yesterday and will be getting here this afternoon!!! I'm so excited to surprise them! As I laid down in between Nana and Dax last night I felt so grateful for the time I've had with them these past 7 weeks. We've missed Danny so much, and having to also be away from the kids for work has been hard. We've also appreciated the time we've been able to have together so much more! It hit me last night how special it's been to get to snuggle my sleeping babies every night. So last night I just laid there and soaked it in. I'm so grateful for all the blessings over these past weeks and so excited for whats to come! The 4 of us will all be together again so soon!! Many more dates with my loves to come.
