Cameras, Drones & Playing at the Park!
Pictures. Gosh I love them. I've always loved taking pictures of my family. I don't know that I'll ever consider myself a photographer, but I definitely want to learn how to use my camera the best I can! When I was a teenager (and even younger) I was so much better at writing in a journal. I remember writing about my day, and leaving blank spaces on the pages so I could go back and glue pictures in them. Which I hardly ever did. Haha! If I did get the pictures printed I would tuck them into the front of the journal were they've all since fallen out. Thats why I started blogging again. I'm not that great with words. To describe a simple night of taking pictures and playing at the park just doesn't do the justice of actually getting to see the smiles on our faces.
Last weekend Danny brought home a drone from work. Since starting at Renzler Media, Danny's had so much fun playing with all sorts of cameras. He produces a podcast, films and edits video. Which for Danny is his dream job. He's been working so hard and having so much fun. All Danny wanted to do on Saturday was go test out the drone and get some footage. So we all packed up and went to the park! Naveya and Dax chased the drone all over the field! Haha! It was really cool to watch. Then we all went over to the jungle gym (what do you call the park part...of a park?? Ha!) and the kids played while Danny filmed some more video on the drone and I snapped some pictures. It was a fun way to get out as a family and practice our photography skills.
These pictures are so priceless. There is this joy I feel documenting these moments knowing what they mean to me now and how precious they'll be to have in the future. Like Daxton reaching the top of the rock wall for the first time! That picture of Naveya sitting on her aunt Amy's shoulders! I mean, can you just feel how much they adore each other!? The pictures of me with my sister that I only get to see a few times a year. They're priceless! Time is so elusive. It flies so dang fast. I think the biggest reason I love pictures is because I feel like I'm beating the system! Haha! Time passes. You can't freeze it or hold it or keep it, BUT you can with a picture. Its a moment in time I get to keep, hold, hang on my wall, or electronically glue on the pages of my blog. :) I'm excited to get better at photography (and becoming journal-er again)! :)
