The Phoenix Art Museum

Living in the city has been so good for my soul. Today marks 5 months since we moved back to Phoenix and it has been so good for all 4 of us! We're in a small apartment in the center of this spread out valley and we're thriving here. Nothing tops that feeling of seeing my family so close and thriving together!
One of my favorite things about living in Central Phoenix is having all the culture, activities, and great food right in our backyard! I recently found out about the Culture Pass program at our library. They have tickets to museums all over the valley you can check out for free! As soon as I heard about it I knew the first museum I wanted to go to was the Phoenix Art Museum. We pass it all the time on the way to the library, and seeing that big red dinosaur out front I knew the kids would love it!
Watching Naveya and Daxton get excited about certain instillations made my mama heart so happy. It's so fun seeing what stands out to them. The museum was so great to make it a family friendly experience. They have a scavenger hunt for the kids with a prize they earn at the end. As they made their way through the museum, the staff would see them with their scavenger hunt papers, ask which art piece they where looking for and give them clues. Daxton said the funniest thing! There was a Samurai exhibit that you had to buy a separate ticket for, but we decided to stick to our general admission tickets. Later on we got to this kids area where they could color and put their own artwork up on the wall. In that area there was a glass wall where you could see down into the Samurai exhibit on the floor below. Dax had all of us dying laughing when he looked down at everyone and said "Suckers! We can see it for free!" Yep, thats my kid. Haha. I guess thats what I get for being so excited about the Culture Pass program.
Phoenix, thanks for being so good to us! I can't wait to explore more of this sunny city with my loves!
