St. George Trip: Part 1

A few times while we were in St. George over the weekend, Naveya would talk about how we were in her birth town. We were walking in town square and I heard her telling grandma Diane how her hometown is Phoenix, St. George is her birth town, and someday we'll live in New York City. Girl after my own heart!!

We got into town late at night and my family had waited up for us. So we stayed up for a few more hours playing and talking. First thing Saturday morning the kids went outside and played sidewalk chalk with Uncle Brendan and Aunt Mimi (Amy). I love seeing my brothers and sisters with them. Naveya and Daxton adore them. All Dax could talk about for weeks was going to Brendan's house. Haha!

After a relaxing morning at my parents house, we stopped to visit my friend Priscilla. It was so great to see her! She and her husband Chad were expecting their first baby, Olly, to arrive any day. Last night I got to facetime her and meet their baby boy! He's perfect!

In true Hoefelmann fashion, we spent the rest of our Saturday out. We went to Judd's, the most adorable little store with old fashioned soda and candy. Grandma Diane got to tell the kids about how she used to go to Judd's when she was a little girl. We walked across the street to town square where the kids played in the splash pad and rode a carousel. I know I've said it before, but my perfect day really is walking around with my family, exploring and eating yummy food! We went to visit the Temple where Danny and I got married. Its so beautiful there! Then hit one more park to play games. We had the best day just being outside together and taking our time going from place to place.

Once the kids were in bed that night, Danny and I left to go on a drive. We drove through old neighborhoods Danny played in as a kid and ended up at the place we met. It used to be Staheli Catering. We worked there when we were both 15 and it still looks exactly the same. Same white christmas lights strung on the roof. Same bench out front I used to sit on waiting for my ride before I could drive. Only now it's a pizza restaurant. It was at least 11:00 at night and here we were, sneaking around the building, looking in the windows. Thats where it all started. It was so great to be back with the people we love in the birth town of so many wonderful things!!
