CHRISTMAS IN JULY

A few weeks ago I had the idea to have a Christmas in July party at home. I guess you could call it more of a themed movie night. I wanted to keep it simple. (Nothing that would require a ton of planning on my part.) We got store-bought icing and cookie dough, put on our Christmas PJ's and watched Home Alone. Earlier that day we went swimming and when it came time to decorate cookies I realized I only had neon food coloring, not traditional colors like I had thought. Between getting to swim and soak in some sunshine and then decorating with brighter colors, I think it ended up making the perfect mix of celebrating Christmas in well...July! The only thing that could have made it better according to Daxton was if I had also gotten them a present. Not sure how I didn't see that coming, but it was funny! It ended up being such a good night and I love that it encouraged us to do an activity together along with our movie night. I can see a lot more of these themed movie nights/parties in our future.
