PHOENIX OPEN AIR MARKET

Saturday mornings I'm typically the first one awake at our house. It's kinda like the adult version of being excited for Christmas morning, only instead of presents, it means I have more time to get stuff done. Like laundry. ('Cause even though the heat here in Phoenix may be enough to tempt you to become a nudist...its highly discouraged outside the walls of our home.) AND also, Saturday's mean time doing fun things as a family!!

This Saturday we went to the Phoenix Open Air Market. Since we live within walking distance from so many grocery stores, we don't make it out to farmers markets like this very often. Living a literal 3-minute drive in my air-conditioned mini van from Trader Joe's has a way of spoiling a person. I love going to places like this once in a while though! I guess since it's more of an activity for our family, we take our time walking around, checking out different foods we don't typically cook. The people watching is always a bonus and my personal favorite....the food trucks and this burrito stand called Mi Catering are SO. GOOD. Noble bakery also had a stand there, which is this amazing bakery near our apartment that makes bread for a handful of really good restaurants here in Phoenix. They open their bakery, Noble Eatery only during lunchtime on weekdays. So unless you work in a building nearby, it's hard to get their bread. Coming across their booth at Open Air made me feel like I'd found this amazing Noble bread hack!

Navy with her fan she "colored" at camp this last week, covering it with tiny black dots. We gave each of the kids a turn being the leader and the rest of us had to follow wherever they wanted to go. It was fun seeing what they gravitated towards. Navy was more into crafts and little things like that. Dax hunted down anyone that would give him a sample. Haha!

Dax walked up to these cacti and saw one that he said looked like a butt. The things that make this 7-year-old boy laugh.

It's so fun coming to this part of Phoenix. It felt so relaxed and quiet on a Saturday morning. We walked passed Pomo Pizzeria on the way to the market. It wasn't open yet, but we could see the gelato counter thing through the window and now all of us want to go back!

Grateful for this crew of mine who puts up with 100 plus degree heat for a mini adventure.
