CITY GIRLS: PART 1

Navy and I went on our girls trip over the weekend and it may be my favorite trip to date! Looking at these photos, they say everything I feel about our time there so much better than I can put into words. We had Amanda Petersen take our photos again while we were in NYC and I am in love with every last one! I knew Navy and I would have so much fun, but I don't think I ever could have fully grasped what it would mean to me, getting to have that kind of 1-on-1 time with Naveya. Or how empowering it would feel to navigate those city streets on my own. I'm this tourist that feels so at home in New York City. I have this appreciation for the everyday movement of that place and it felt so good to be there and soak it all in with Naveya.

I'm going to do a Part 2 post that goes more into detail about what we did while we were there. These photos are just so special I wanted to give them a home and do a sneak peek sharing both of our favorite restaurants and activities of the trip.

Naveya: Before even coming on the trip I asked Naveya to pick 2 things she wanted to do on the trip. There's never enough time to do everything we want to while we're in the city so we've decided to pick just 1 activity we want to make sure happens each day...then go wherever the wind blows us. Navy's 2 activities were - "Tea at the Plaza or somewhere fun" and "Wicked on Broadway!" So it should come as no surprise that here two favorites were;

Food -  Alice's Tea Cup!! (We're no Tea connoissuer's or anything, but we both said it was the best tea we'd ever tasted. The food was pretty amazing too!!)

AND Activity - Wicked! She has talked about going ever since Danny and I went on our 10th-anniversary trip. I'm so glad we went!! (Navy even won us lottery tickets, which is a whole other story for Part 2!)

For me, my favorites were having lunch at Jacob's Pickles and walking through Central Park on Saturday evening on the way to watch a movie in the park on the Upper East Side. We walked the mall, passing so many people playing music, and dancing. Including a group of couples taking a tango class....right there in Central Park!!

There were so many "pinch me" moments on the trip. Most of which were those everyday moments of just being together. Having that intentional time to enjoy those moments, and make memories with my favorite girl in my favorite city are priceless. I left feeling this pride in myself and a deeper love and connection with Naveya. I couldn't have asked for more.
