FOURTH OF JULY '19

We're officially half way through summer and I can't believe how fast it's flying by! I don't think time will ever be something I can wrap my head around. This week has been so fun! Along with the typical fireworks and food traditions for the 4th of July, we also had another pool day and got to show the cousins our favorite Museum here in Phoenix. The Phoenix Art Museum makes it so fun for families. They have a scavenger hunt for kids and stools you can grab to go sit and create your own art throughout the museum. I was looking for something fun to do for the 4th and found out they were doing free snow cones and discounted admission for the holiday. We've been there a handful of times and this time, going on the 4th.....the place was empty. Like, almost eerily empty. I forget most people get out of the city and go on vacation for the 4th. It ended up being perfect for our crew though. We basically had the place to ourselves and the snow cones were a nice bonus too!

This time I got in on the action and tried standing on Danny's hands. Not the most graceful thing I've ever done, but it was so fun just playing and being silly with Danny.

It was my turn to take Dax on a date this week. Right before we were planning to leave I realized Navy was with him in their bathroom helping him get ready for our date. Naveya picked out an outfit for him, did his hair, and made this paper bow tie he wore taped to his shirt for our entire date. I had the best ice cream date with this boy.

It was so fun watching the kids grab a stool and start drawing. Naveya was the first to choose a spot and the rest of the kids followed. Of anyone I know, Navy and I just get each other the most. We like a lot of the same things, foods, activities, etc. Navy and I are going on our first mother-daughter trip at the end of this month and I can't wait to spend a weekend together. Getting to do things just the two of us want to do. We have a calendar in our kitchen and she has been crossing off each day, counting down to our trip.

LOVE this installation of petrified wood. Daxton was so funny. He walked up to that rope until his legs were touching it, and intentionally dropped his pencil on the ground just on the other side so he could step over the rope to pick it up. It was so funny watching him try to be sneaky. (He also loved running around in this open space that's typically full of people.)

Love that we were able to have so much family time during this week! Now I'm looking forward to having a little Christmas in July party here at home this weekend!
