FAMILY. PHOENIX. SLEEP & TACOS.

This week was...rough. Danny and I have both been sick, but you know, the show must go on. Danny was hit with strep first and basically spent last weekend in bed. So, I took the kids downtown to play on some water slides. Every summer they shut down a street for a couple days and put up a bunch of these inflatable water slides. I joined in too and we had so much fun. I don't say it enough, but seriously Phoenix, I love you!

Navy had a great week at camp! She had been dreading the day "Deb's Dragons" was coming, knowing they would be bringing snakes. When I picked her up from camp thinking she'd tell me it was gross or scary the first thing she said was, "A tarantula walked on my head!!!" all excited. She told us about Deb, this cool lady with tattoos and a tank top that said "face your fear". She talked to the kids about overcoming their fears and how they can push past fear to accomplish things they want to in life. I love that!! and apparently her speech was compelling enough that Naveya let a freaking tarantula walk on her head! She also pet a corn snake, geckos (more my comfort level, ha!) and held a boa constrictor wrapped around her shoulders. It was so fun seeing the change from her dreading it that morning- to being so excited about what she did, telling us how cute the little albino corn snake was. She also went ice skating, which was also a new experience, but I just can't get over the whole tarantula thing!

We have been loving our summer schedule. Everyone gets to sleep just a little bit longer since the kids don't have to go to camp until right before Danny and I go to work. We have 2 more weeks of summer break. What!?? Yes, two. I can't believe how fast its flown by! Next week is the last week of summer camp and then I'm taking a week off to be with the kids and get ready for the new school year. I'm pretty sure getting sick this week was my body's way of saying um...hellooo, I NEED a break. I'm just glad I have a built-in break planned and I'm getting this sickness stuff over with so I can enjoy that week with the fam.

So grateful for this guy who pushed through this week with me. As I started feeling a little better and had more of an appetite, the first thing I wanted was tacos!! Basically, if I'm feeling crappy, things that make me feel better are Family time, exploring our city, sleep and tacos!!

Dax and I also ran some errands this week just the two of us. I'd been wanting to try on a cropped/flare style jean and found these for $11 at Old Navy. While Dax was playing games on my phone he was sweet enough to take a few photos and videos of me in the dressing room. Some with, and without pants on. Ha!

Snapped this photo just now and had to add it in. As I've thrown this little post together I've watched the sun touch the top of the apartments and I just love that glow!! It's been an exhausting week, but today is a new day! It's a new weekend, AND we have cousins visiting! Danny's cousin Liz and her family are here and we're excited to get to spend time with them this weekend! Bring on family, Phoenix, sleep and maybe even more tacos!
